The Drafting Group on the Protection of the Right to Vote and to Stand for Election under the ECHR (CDDH-VOTE) will hold its first meeting in Strasbourg from 21 to 23 September 2026, under the chairmanship of Krista Oinonen (Finland).
At its inaugural meeting, the Group will elect its Vice-Chair and exchange views on its terms of reference and working methods.
The Group will also hold discussions with independent experts and representatives of the European Court of Human Rights and other relevant bodies on issues relating to electoral rights under the European Convention on Human Rights. In addition, it will discuss the scope of the study that it has been tasked with preparing.
