Retour Advisory Board for Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility

The Advisory Board for Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility is an auxiliary body to the Minister of Investment and Economic Development, created in May 2018.

The basic function of the Advisory Board is to create a space for dialogue and exchange of experiences between the public administration, social partners, NGOs and the academic environment in the field of corporate social responsibility and responsible business conduct (CSR/RBC).

The Advisory Board also issues recommendations concerning CSR/RBC policy implementation, taking into account the objectives of the national Strategy for Responsible Development.

There are five working groups of the Advisory Board, three focus on developing specific support tools for enterprises in topics such as:

  • business and human rights: including proposals for clauses in business cooperation agreements with employment agencies, temporary work and subcontractors to combat forced labour; as well as recommendations for developing due diligence procedures in the areas of health and safety.
  • implementing the circular economy concept: including developing a practical series of brochures for consumers; and highlighting the opportunities, benefits and the possibility of financial support for business projects aimed at implementing the circular economy.
  • developing innovations for sustainable development and CSR; and developing workshops for entrepreneurs.

The remaining two working groups are:

  • developing a guide and catalogue of good practices related to internal implementation of CSR in public administration.
  • developing a guide and catalogue of good practices for CSR in Universities.
