Back "Green Perspectives on European Security" study session at the EYC Budapest

This week, the Council of Europe Youth Department, in collaboration with the Cooperation and Development Network (CDN), the Federation of Young European Greens (FYEG), and the Green European Federation (GEF), is hosting a study session titled 'Green Perspectives on European Security” at the European Youth Centre Budapest.

The session which is taking place from 23 October to 28 October, brings together 35 activists, practitioners, and youth workers from 16 member states of the Council of Europe.

The activity aims to establish a shared understanding among the participants on European security in the face of evolving global challenges. Furthermore, it places significant emphasis on adopting intersectional approaches, guided by the values of democracy, the rule of law, self-determination, human rights, and fundamental freedoms, with the aim of cultivating a collective comprehension and producing concrete outcomes for follow-up activities.

In this context, Olena Chernykh, Senior Project Officer of the Council of Europe's "Youth for Democracy" project in Ukraine, will present Council of Europe activities and projects related to youth in Ukraine, along with opportunities available for youth workers and activists, both within and beyond Ukraine.

At the end of the study session, participants will create a toolkit that will serve as a valuable resource for youth activists, practitioners, and organisations across Europe, facilitating the implementation of green, intersectional perspectives on European security.
