The European Youth Foundation (EYF) helps young people across Europe make a difference. Created by the Council of Europe in 1972 as a financial instrument, it provides funding and support to youth organisations and youth initiatives developed by, with and for young people, from the Council of Europe member states.

Every year, the EYF distributes over 3.5 million euros to support more than 100 youth projects, directly reaching 15 000 young people under 30. From awareness campaigns to educational programmes, the EYF helps turn young people's ideas into real action that strengthens communities and builds bridges across Europe.

It is a division in the Youth Department of the Council of Europe’s Directorate for Democracy,  Directorate General of Democracy and Human Dignity (“DGII”).
