 The aim of the study session is to strengthen rights based approach in youth work with young refugees and promote the role of soft skills in young refugees’ inclusion in the society.


 Objectives :


  • Encouraging a common understanding of the terms related with working with refugees in grassroot level (inclusion, integration, etc.);
  • Promoting rights based approach while working with young refugees;
  • Exploring best practices and challenges in implementation of rights based approach in work with young refugees;
  • Exploring different legal frameworks regarding asylum procedures to identify the opportunities provided and challenges faced in access to rights for the young refugees/asylum seekers;
  • Raising awareness about the importance of the inclusive preparation process while working with young refugees;
  • Exploring the role of soft skills in the inclusion process of the young refugees;
  • Having a better understanding about the existing tools in providing career guidance/planning services adapted to the needs of youth refugees.
  • Developing competences on designing activities to strengthen the inclusion process of young refugees;
  • Promoting youth work as a tool that supports inclusion and active citizenship, as well as other relevant CoE mechanisms/documents (such as Recommendation supporting young refugees in their transition to adulthood, Compass, Education Pack)
  • Promoting cooperation between different stakeholders who work to facilitate the access to rights for young refugees through inclusion initiatives.


 The information on the organizations

Youth Social Rights Network is an international network working on improving access to social rights for all young people (particularly young people from disadvantaged neighborhoods deprived of some of the basic necessities and/ or young people facing a variety of disadvantages).  The mission of the organisation is to improve the access to social rights, social inclusion, and  participation of young people; (particularly those from disadvantaged neighborhoods or those facing disadvantage), while protecting young people from all forms of discrimination and violence.

I- PARTICIPATE is a non-profit organization based in Greece aiming to empower and support        young people through non-formal education, sport, and culture, develop social and human capital and create more favorable conditions for strengthening social equality, social cohesion, and political activity and support initiatives to protect individual, political and social rights and human rights in general.
