On 24 and 25 January 2019, after their separate meetings, the Bureaux of the European Steering Committee for Youth (CDEJ) and the Advisory Council on Youth (CCJ) will come together in a joint meeting to discuss the continuation of the Joint Council on Youth’s (CMJ) work in 2019.
The main items on the agenda concern:
- the on-going work to draft a strategy 2030 for the youth sector;
- the follow-up that is to be given to last November’s consultative meeting on “Shrinking space for civil society: its impact on young people and their organisations”;
- the legacy of the No Hate Speech Movement Campaign; as well as
- preparations for the thematic debate on “Inclusion of young people with disabilities” to be held in March 2019.
Antje Rothemund, Head of the Youth Department, will update the Bureaux on the latest developments in the Council of Europe and its youth sector.
Finally, the Bureaux will examine and finalise the draft agenda for the Joint Council on Youth’s meeting to be held on 19 and 20 March 2019 in Budapest.
