Solidarity with Belarus - youth activists in dialogue

Concerned about the intimidation and arrests of youth civil society representatives and other young citizens in Belarus, the Advisory Council on Youth is organising an online panel discussion on the evolving situation in Belarus since the elections last August.

Join the live online debate on Wednesday 23 September at 6 p.m. @AdvisoryCouncilOnYouth with:

  • Boriss Cilevičs, chairperson of the Legal Affairs and Human Rights Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe;
  • Dzmitry Herylovich, Chairperson of RADA, the national youth council of Belarus;
  • Lavon Marozau, International Secretary of RADA;
  • Silja Markkula, board member of the European Youth Forum;
  • Andrea Ugrinoska, chairperson of the Advisory Council on Youth;
  • Mihai Dragos, vice-chairperson of the Advisory Council on Youth.

The debate is being organised in response to a call by activists in Belarus for support for their struggle for human rights and democracy and to observe 20 September as Global Day of Solidarity for Belarus, and to organise a week of solidarity events from 21-26 September.
