Job shadowing for the Quality Label Youth Centres

Representatives of Plovdiv Youth Centre, Bulgaria visited Marttinen Youth Centre in Finland from 29 October to 2 November to enable peer learning among key staff members of youth centres as well as to develop and strengthen the cooperation between Council of Europe quality labelled youth centres.

The staff from the Bulgarian youth centre had the opportunity to learn more about the management and operational set up of Marttinen Youth Centre, the Finnish centre’s relation to the public authorities and role at local, regional and national levels for the development of youth policy, as well as the centres pedagogical approach to their educational programme. The visit resulted in an agreement between the centres to develop certain joint activities in 2020-2021, to work on a long-term partnership and the possibility to apply some of the methods of Marttinen Youth Centre to organise outdoor and nature education to the Bulgarian youth centre’s context and educational programme.

The job shadowing took place in the framework of the Council of Europe Quality Label for Youth Centres programme, which now supports quality labelled youth centres with a mini-grant dedicated to capacity and knowledge building, developing and improving cooperation and networking possibilities among youth centres.
