The aim of the initiative “Towards an alliance of European cities against violent extremism” is to provide a European forum for the exchange of experience and information on promising practices, existing programmes and tools for the prevention of radicalisation leading to violent extremism. The initiative is led by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe and the European Forum for Urban Security (Efus).

The Congress has devised a toolkit which includes relevant information and resources concerning the issues of combating radicalisation, intercultural and interreligious dialogue, democratic citizenship and building inclusive societies. The Toolkit is available in 36 languages.
