On 22 September 2020, the Secretaries of the National Delegations of the Congress held a video-conference with the Acting Secretary General Andreas Kiefer, the Director Rafael Benitez and members of the Congress Secretariat.
They discussed the meetings of the Commissions which were held for the first time as online meetings from 15 to 17 September 2020, including the technical conditions under which they took place and the improvements to be made. Mr Kiefer pointed out that the meetings of the Bureau and the Statutory Forum will also be held as online meetings, on 28 September 2020.
The Secretary General a.i. referred also to the renewal of national delegations, which is foreseen for the 40th Session in March 2021 and the impact of the Congress reform in this respect.
The Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe has created an online hub "COVID-19: response at local and regional levels". This hub presents a set of resources deployed by local and regional authorities, by partner networks and by other organisations. An interactive module allows cities and regions to contribute directly and share their initiatives.
