Training Course Interculturalism in Support of Territorial Youth Policies
The training course equips civil servants responsible for youth related issues, projects, programmes and policies to integrate an international and intercultural dimension into their work in support of young people in their communities and localities.

15 civil servants working for the French territorial authorities on youth related programmes and policies gathered at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg from 20-22 May 2025 for a professional development course entitled: Interculturalism in Support of Territorial Youth Policies.
This training course is part of the Council of Europe’s Youth for Democracy programme. It takes place as a partnership between the Ministry of Sports, Youth, and Community Life – Directorate of Youth, Non-Formal Education, and Community Life and the Youth Department of the Council of Europe. It is organised under the Revitalising Democracy Project.
This supports youth organisations and youth sector workers across Member States of the Council of Europe to improve their competence in youth participation, youth civic engagement and democratic innovation.
By equipping national, regional authorities to develop international youth work, this training contributes to the programme’s broader mission of fostering resilient, inclusive, and future-oriented youth services that can effectively respond to the challenges young people face today.
Over 2 and a half training days, participants:
- Learn: About approaches to and methods of international youth work
- Are exposed to: The youth policy and international youth work approaches of both the Council of Europe and several neighbouring Member States of the Council of Europe including Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium.
- Meet: Other civil servants from around France interested in developing the international and intercultural dimension of their work.
- Develop: Plans for how to integrate an international and intercultural dimension into their youth work projects.
