The Council of Europe’s work on children’s rights is built on the principle of “nothing about us without us.” Young people, including children and teens, are regularly consulted on laws and standards that affect them, from education and justice to digital safety.

 The Council trains professionals to engage with young people meaningfully and facilitates children’s activism through advisory groups, surveys, and creative projects. Priority is given to amplifying the voices of especially vulnerable or marginalised children, ensuring policy reflects their needs and dreams.
