Adapted facilities for users with disabilities
Rooms
The European Youth Centre Budapest is accessible to wheelchair users, and three bedrooms are equipped for visitors with physical disabilities.
The rooms are equipped with:
- a widened entrance door (90cm)
- fittings (light switches, sockets) located at an accessible height
- lower-level storage shelves
- extra-wide bed (120cm x 200cm)
- sliding bathroom access door
- adapted bathroom fitted with lowered sink with hinged grab-rail, toilet with grab-rails on either side, wet-room style shower with wrap around grab-rail and folding shower seat
Please note that the doors, both the entrance to the room and the bathroom, open manually.
At Reception, you can find a touchscreen; a welcome information video package is available in sign language.
Conference rooms
The large conference rooms are equipped with an induction loop system for people with hearing aids.
Lift
The lift buttons are labelled in Hungarian Braille. Rooms / venues are not yet signed in Braille. The lift can take six people (max. 540kg) and its size is
150cm x 110cm x 90cm.
The EYCB has sanitary facilities for people with disabilities with the latest standards; it also has access ramps for people with reduced mobility.

Administration offices
The offices can be found on the third floor.
Office hours are weekdays from 9.00 to 13.00 and from 14.30 to 18.00.
Allergies
Hypoallergenic bedding is standard.
Concerning special dietary needs, please consult our Secretariat in advance.
Although our restaurant aims at finding a solution for special requests, please note that ingredients used in the kitchen may contain allergens.
Please make sure that you inform the organisers of your activity if you have any serious allergies, and also provide them with guidance about what
needs to be done in case of emergency.
Air Conditioning
The EYCB’s meeting rooms, ground floor and 4th floor lobbies and its restaurant are air conditioned.
The guest rooms are not equipped with air conditioning, but each is provided with a fan.
Airport Transfers
Airport Shuttle Service
The airport shuttle service offers a favourably priced transfer service from and to Budapest Airport (“Liszt Ferenc Airport”). You can book this service
directly on their website www.minibud.hu/booking, or Reception can assist you with the reservation (minimum 24 hours in advance of your departure).
Taxi
Budapest taxi companies vary in quality of service. The EYCB’s official partner is City Taxi, and we recommend using their services going into the
city or to the airport: www.citytaxi.hu. Reception can inform you of other reliable taxi companies.
