Retour Training of Romanian-speaking Youth Trainers on Human Rights Education

Training of Romanian-speaking Youth Trainers on Human Rights Education

From 13 to 19 September 2025, trainers in youth work, youth workers, educators, and teachers from Romania and Moldova came together in Timisoara, Romania, for the regional training course on human rights education “The Compass effect”.

The aim of the course is to strengthen participants’ competences in human rights education, to deepen their understanding of its role in empowering young people and to stimulate quality programmes and activities of human rights education at local, regional, and national levels.

Over seven days, participants explored and practiced human rights education and non-formal learning methods based on the Council of Europe educational resources such as Compass: Manual for Human Rights Education with Young People, which will soon be available in Romanian.

Taking place at the Timisoara Quality Labelled Youth House, the training also provided a space for sharing experiences within the Romanian-speaking context and building networks.

The activity was organised by the Timis County Youth Foundation (FITT) together with the Romanian National Youth Foundation (FNT), in co-operation with the Council of Europe Youth Department within the Youth for Democracy programme, and co-funded by the Municipality of Timisoara through the Center for Projects.
