ATD Fourth World

 
 

 Aim:

The aim of the study session is to ensure space for young delegates to build collective knowledge on the experience of poverty based on their own experiences and the experiences of their peers, in the intercultural environment and deliver the message to stakeholders in the field of youth on the themes of the European Youth Campaign of ATD Fourth World.


 

Objectives: 

  • to build collective knowledge on the young people’s concerns, basing on their experience of poverty following the themes of:

    • We experience harassment and discrimination

    • We want to have more the possibility to choose

    • We experience isolation, we want to be together

  •  to finalise conclusions after a one-year process of collective thinking in the preparation of the ATD Youth Campaign, and deliver them to institutions and other stakeholders;
  • to facilitate a dialogue between youth experiencing poverty and institutions on ways to ensure access of their rights;
  • to enable young people to make encounters with other young people with similar experiences from different countries and cultures;
  • to empower young people to change their lives and to participate in their communities and other collective spaces.

ATD (All Together in Dignity) Fourth World is an international movement of solidarity. Work among and in collaboration with the most excluded families worldwide.  Founded in 1957 by Joseph Wresinski, ATD Fourth World brings together women and men from all cultures and social classes and is active in over 30 countries.

ATD Fourth World is an international non-governmental organization with no religious or political affiliation. We work along side and in collaboration with people in poverty. We believe that a world without poverty is possible.
