On 3-4 April 2024, the Villa Elba Youth Centre in Kokkola, Finland, hosted a 2-day strategic planning meeting together with experts from the Council of Europe Quality Label programme.

 The meeting involved educational staff of the youth centre, and focused on exploring the potential of human rights education and practices of youth participation.

 Council of Europe Youth Department resources and values on human rights, including children’s rights, were introduced and discussed. Villa Elba staff also showcased their work on nature and environmental education, this time set in the early spring landscape of Kokkola next to the frozen Baltic Sea.
