Quality Label end of term visit to CEULAJ Youth Centre, Mollina, Spain

The Euro-Latin-American Youth Centre (CEULAJ) was awarded the Quality Label for Youth Centres in 2016 for an initial period of 3 years. The end of term visit for the label took place on 26 and 27 September and the purpose of the visit was to learn more about CEULAJ recent developments and to follow up on the recommendations given at the time by the Council of Europe expert team on the fulfillment of the 15 quality criteria. Located in Mollina, a small town in in the southern part of Spain, the centre hosts a large variety of activities for young people and is the home for the University on Youth and Development, a global youth event co-organised with the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe. The expert team was hosted by Juan Rodríguez Serrano, Director of CEULAJ, and had the opportunity to meet with Luis Ballesteros Garcia, Advisor to the Director General of INJUVE (the Spanish Youth Institute), representatives of the National Youth Council of Spain as well as Eugenio Sevillano, Mayor of Mollina, and other local/regional partners of the centre.

The Council of Europe expert team was composed of Jorge Orlando Queiros, Director of the Department of Information, Communication International Relations of the Portuguese Youth and Sport Institute, and member of the European Steering Committee for Youth (CDEJ); Natalia Chardymova, Educational Advisor, Youth Department of the Council of Europe; and Gordana Berjan, Executive Director of the European Youth Centre Budapest.
