After the Mayor of Chisinau was placed under house arrest, Congress bureau invited the Chair of the Chamber of Regions Gunn Marit HELGESEN to organise a visit to Dorin CHIRTOACA, on Wednesday 30 August 2017. They held an exchange of views on the situation of the Mayor, currently under house arrest since 26 May 2017, suspended from duty in the context of criminal proceedings against him related to his municipal management. The president also met Viorel MORARI, anticorruption Prosecutor and Vladimir CEBOTARI, Minister of Justice as well as the national association of Moldavian local authorities (CALM). A preliminary draft report and resolution will be submitted to the Bureau at its next meeting, prior to final adoption at the next Congress session in October.
