The 10th World Forum for Democracy, “Democracy: A new hope?” will take place from 7-9 November 2022 in Strasbourg. Participants will debate the main factors contributing to the decline of democracy, examine how to remedy it, and consider what kind of democratic future is desirable - and possible - for the benefit of people around the world. The World Forum for Democracy launches a call for initiatives and invites NGOs, think tanks, educational and civil society organisations to present innovative proposals aimed at strengthening democracy and providing solutions to reverse democratic decline. Each year, the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities contributes to the World Forum for Democracy and participates in plenary sessions, Forum Talks and Forum Labs, with a focus on local and regional democracy.
