“We must not forget the Holocaust of the Roma and we have to transmit to the new generations its memory, about hundreds of thousands innocents victims; a concrete aim to counter. Today the racism intolerance and vindictive impulse, transforms this existing situation in Europe more serious”, stated Piero Fassino, President of the Socialist group of the congress, during the European Roma Holocaust Memorial Day.
“For this reason it is important that Mayors of all European cities subscribe the Declaration against Anti- Gypsyism and to apply contrast polices to each type of discrimination against Roma communities” said Fassino.
