In the context of relations between Belarus and the Congress, a working meeting was held at the headquarters of the Council of the Republic of Belarus in Minsk on 22 November 2018 with the President of the Council of the Republic, Mikhail MYASNIKOVICH, and the Congress Director, Jean-Philippe BOZOULS. In particular, they discussed co-operation activities that could be included in the future Council of Europe Action Plan. Among the projects under discussion are the creation of an association of local authorities and the launch of an ambitious decentralisation process in Belarus. In addition, the Director of the Congress and the President of the Council of the Republic referred to a joint conference between the Presidents of the Congress and the Belarusian authorities that could be held in the first half of 2019.
