Lecture at the Law Faculty

On the occasion of the 40th Anniversary of the Journalism studies department at the Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” an event dedicated to human rights and in particular the freedom of expression was organised by the Faculty. For this event, the Council of Europe extended its support to the Faculty by engaging an expert to give a lecture on the topic of Media law in the context of the freedom of expression and the Council of Europe’s standards on 13th December 2017. The aim of the lecture was to reach out to a wider public by raising awareness with them on freedom of expression issues and the role of the media in this context.

A high number of people in the audience consisting of: students, former and present university professors, representatives of state bodies etc., had the opportunity to listen to a speech presented by a former university lecturer in Paris and Rennes, Mr Frederic Gras.

The event was supported under the Joint Project “Reinforcing Judicial Expertise on Freedom of Expression and the Media in South-East Europe (JUFREX)”, co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.

“The views expressed therein can in no way be taken to reflect the official opinion of the European Union”
