Following the initial pilot project of 2016, in 2017 members of the Hungarian National Campaign Committee of the No Hate Speech Movement are expanding and broadening the teacher training programme based on the Hungarian edition of Bookmarks in cooperation with the European Youth Centre Budapest.
Of the six planned trainings, four have already taken place during the summer in major Hungarian cities: Pécs, Veszprém, Kecskemét and Nyíregyháza. Altogether 60 young people and educational professionals took part in the trainings, focusing on approaches to the development of such key competencies as digital literacy, safe internet use, on-line ethics, tolerance and solidarity.
Participants appreciated the use of variety of non-formal educational methods and the dedication of the trainers. Each two-day training gathered groups with diverse social and professional background, providing opportunity for an inspiring peer-to-peer learning process. This experience combined with the interactive and practical training elements were evaluated by participants as highly useful and easy to implement in their daily work, both in the online space and in interpersonal communication.
