Frequently asked questions – FAQ MFRYD
The
answers to the majority of your questions should be found in various
other sections on this site. However, if you can not find the
information you are looking for, we recommend that you browse through
the frequently asked questions section. If you still can’t find an
answer to your queries you are welcome to contact us via email.
We are 9 in a
group, is it enough ?
No. A minimum of ten people is needed per group. However if you are a
group of 9 and you require a supervisor, this fulfils the requirements.
Participants can originate and travel from different countries to the
same activity.
Our
project is to take place in 20 days. Is it too late to apply?
Yes
it is. We recommend that you apply at least two months in advance
before the beginning of your project but we will consider applications
that are sent a month before the beginning of your project.
What
is the maximum/minimum age group for a project?
Since September 2010, any person of any age can participate in a
mobility project.
We
are a group of 12 disadvantaged youths with a project that does not
involve any travel. Will you help us?
No. We only fund mobility projects. For a full definition of what is
meant by “mobility projects” please refer to the presentation page.
What
is an underprivileged person?
What we define as an underprivileged/disadvantaged person can be found
in the fund presentation page.
We
are two friends wanting to travel to Germany from an underprivileged
area in Romania to party. Can we be funded to do so?
No,
partying is neither educational nor cultural. On top of that our group
criteria require a minimum of ten participants.
Do you fund all
forms of travel?
No,
only InterRail travel cards if they are available. If InterRail cards
are unavailable for the countries in which you plan to travel we will
reimburse your second-class rail travel, once all original receipts and
tickets have been provided. We will also pay the second-class national
travel as InterRail can only be used out of your country of residence.
Do you fund all projects
that meet the requirements?
We
try and fund as many projects as possible however not all can be funded
despite meeting the requirements for funding.
I have applied for funding but have
not yet had an answer. What is going on?
You
can follow up your project step-by-step by connecting to the site using
your personalised log-on ("Project follow up" page). There you will be able to see the exact
status of your application, regularly updated by our members of staff.
Is
there a funding cap?
No
there is not – in theory. You have to take into consideration that this
fund has limited resources and has to cater to the needs of groups in 47
countries!
If
I create an organisation can I get funding for me and my friends to go
on holiday even if we are not really part of an organisation?
No,
if ever we have the slightest suspicion concerning the legitimacy of an
organisation we will investigate to verify the legitimacy of your
application.
Do I have to
fill in the whole form?
Yes. All the information we ask for is essential for your application.
Please refer to the “how to fill in the application form” section of
this site as incomplete application forms will not be assessed.
How long does it take to
fill in the form?
Less
than an hour if your project is already clearly defined and planned. We
recommend that you carefully think out your project beforehand, work on
it in Word format, as for certain questions you can cut and paste from
your original document.
How long does it take to get
an answer?
We
try to respond to all applications in the most effective and efficient
manner. Please take into consideration that we receive a substantial
number of applications and we have to carefully evaluate each one on an
individual basis. As a consequence response can take up to three
weeks. Please be patient.
My organisation
registered when the fund was called the Solidarity Fund for Youth
Mobility. Do I have to re-register my organisation’s details?
If
you were previously registered with the SFYM your organisation’s details
have been transferred to the new system. You do not have to
re-register.
How is the
payment of the grant made?
The
payment is made after the project has taken place, on receipt of all the
original InterRail travel cards, or second-class tickets and receipts
showing proof of purchase and following our assessment of a post-project
report that you are required to submit.
My organisation does not
have a bank account. Can you pay the money into my account?
No. Our policy is to pay the money only into
organisation’s bank accounts. No exceptions will be made. If
your organisation does not have an account a special agreement can be
signed between your organisation and a partner organisation.
The organisation does not
have any money. Can you exceptionally pay the money before the project?
No.
We will only pay the money once we have full proof of the event having
taken place, (receipts and other documents) as stated in the
requirements and application form. Failure to provide these, no matter
the circumstances, will result in the grant being void and will not be
paid. No exceptions will be made.
The event was cancelled. Can our
organisation get any form of compensation?
No.
If none of these questions
answered your queries, you are most welcome to send us an
email. Our team will try and respond as soon as is
possible.
