25 youth workers from across Europe gathered at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg for “Cultivating Circular Economy Solutions in Youth Work.” This dynamic study session, running between 4 and 8 May, is part of the  Youth for Democracy programme and is organised in cooperation with AEGEE – EUROPE.

 This event empowers youth workers with the tools to integrate circular economy principles into their projects, enhancing both sustainability and impact in youth work. Through non-formal education and design thinking, participants explore human-centred approaches that ensure youth work remains innovative and future-proof.

 This study session directly supports the Council of Europe’s Youth for Democracy programme, which strengthens youth participation, civic engagement, and democratic innovation. By equipping youth workers with sustainable project management tools, the session contributes to the programme’s broader mission of fostering resilient, inclusive, and future-oriented youth organisations that can effectively respond to today’s societal challenges.

 Over five action-packed days, participants:

• Dive into circular economy principles and their role in youth work.
• Build sustainable project management skills using agile methods.
• Apply hands-on exercises to develop real-world strategies.
• Use design thinking to conceptualize and plan impactful youth projects.
• Collaborate to create a Sustainable Project Management Framework tailored to the needs of youth organisations.

  By the end of the session, participants walk away with practical methodologies and a co-developed framework that supports youth organisations in adopting sustainable practices. A final booklet will capture these insights, providing a roadmap for youth workers across Europe to implement sustainability-driven project management.
