Youth organisations and networks are better prepared to organise quality international youth co-operation activities

The Council of Europe Youth Department is organising the "Quality Essentials of International Youth Activities" training course for organisers and facilitators of study sessions and international youth initiatives. The course is taking place from 4–9 February 2026 at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg. Thirty participants representing 30 youth organisations and networks engaged in partnership with the Council of Europe are attending.

This training aims to strengthen the capacities of international youth organisations and networks by equipping participants with the tools they need to deliver high-quality, intercultural youth activities related to the main areas of work of the Council of Europe: human rights, democracy, and the rule of law, and linked to the youth priorities, such as revitalising democracy, access to rights for young people, living in peaceful and inclusive societies, and the development of youth work.

Key objectives of the programme are:

  • Increasing skills for preparing, implementing, and evaluating international youth activities
  • Boosting competence in applying the Council of Europe youth sector’s quality standards for non-formal education and intercultural learning
  • Deepening understanding of Council of Europe tools and priorities and linking them to participants' organisations
  • Creating a space for youth organisations to contribute to the implementation of activities in cooperation with the European Youth Centres and the ones supported by the European Youth Foundation

The course presents expert inputs, interactive workshops, experiential learning sessions, and peer exchanges focused on the essentials of quality in youth work. Topics include intercultural and experiential learning, team dynamics, quality assurance, and transversal themes such as sustainability, accessibility and gender equality.
