Youth Ambassadors of the Decade Against Antigypsyism

From 11 to 16 September, the European Youth Centre in Budapest hosted the study session ‘Youth Ambassadors of the Decade Against Antigypsyism’.

Organised in cooperation with ERGO Network and the International Roma Youth Network (ternYpe), the study session looked at strategies to combat antigypsyism and encourage Roma youth participation. As part of this, participants explored the connection between human rights and antigypsyism, and in the end of the week, participants planned their follow-up actions on local level.
External experts included activists Gwendolyn Albert and Elena Gorolova, who talked about their long-term work against systemic discrimination in the Czech Republic. Participants also got more familiar with the work of the CoE on antigypsyism, including the newly adopted CoE Recommendation on Roma Youth Participation.
