Young changemakers from Greece visit the European Youth Centre

On 21 January 2025, a group of young changemakers from Greece led by ActionAid Hellas visited the European Youth Centre Strasbourg.

Four dynamic youth representatives from municipalities and two co-ordinators travelled to Strasbourg. They are involved in the project “Youth Action for Democracy: Promoting EU Values and Rights in Northern and Central Greece”. They were eager to know about the Council of Europe youth sector, its policies, missions and activities, prior to visits to other European institutions.

The meeting, facilitated by two Youth department staff, was a great opportunity for learning, networking, and engaging in meaningful discussions, while the Greek youth presented their policy recommendations and received feedback.

The project Youth Action for Democracy: Promoting EU Values and Rights in Northern and Central Greece” is implemented by BUILD program, with ActionAid Hellas serving as the implementing organisation and Hellenic Youth Workers Association  as the partner organization. BUILD is co-funded by EU through Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) program, Bodossakis Foundation and NGO Support Centre in Cyprus.

Youth empowerment lies in the heart of ActionAid Hellas; this is why the organisation fortified its focus on youth empowerment and youth work by opening a Youth Centre in Thessaloniki, in 2020. This was an opportunity to present the Council of Europe Quality label for youth centres programme.
