A youth delegation of Kazakhstan paid a visit to the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg on 8 June 2023 at the occasion of the European Youth Event. The delegation consisted of representatives of public institutions , including the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, research institutions and universities, local authorities and youth organisations and associations.

During their visit, the delegation was given an overview of the Council of Europe's youth sector and was introduced to the opportunities available for young people from Kazakhstan to participate in activities organised by the Youth Department. Information was  also provided about how to apply for the European Youth Foundation grants.

The representatives of the Youth Department and the delegation of Kazakhstan explored also potential formats and areas of cooperation in the youth field focusing on human rights education, democratic youth participation, and the Council of Europe's support for youth policy development in Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan is a signatory party to the European Cultural Convention.
