The Advisory Council on Youth (CCJ) welcomes the new report of the Council of Europe Secretary General, Alain Berset, titled 'Towards a New Democratic Pact for Europe'. The report outlines the alarming decline of democracy in Europe and a vision for democracy that resonates profoundly in today's geopolitical climate. In this vision of a new Democratic Pact, we are particularly encouraged by the report's emphasis on the importance of incorporating youth perspectives and agency of young people in the commitment to a democratic present and future.
