On 27 and 28 January 2020, after their separate meetings, the Bureaux of the European Steering Committee for Youth (CDEJ) and the Advisory Council on Youth (CCJ) came together in a joint meeting at the European Youth Centre Strasbourg to discuss the Joint Council on Youth’s (CMJ) work in 2020 and beyond.

The main items on the agenda concerned, amongst others:

• the recent launch of the Council of Europe youth sector strategy 2030;
• the “lessons learned” from the recent developments in the youth sector, including the implementation of the youth programmes over the past biennium (2018-2019);
• the priorities and main projects set for the youth sector in the framework of the Programme and Budget 2020-2021; and
• preparations for the thematic debate on “Climate crisis and the global governance” to be held in March 2020.

Finally, the Bureaux examined and finalised the draft agenda for the Joint Council on Youth’s meeting, to be held on 24-25 March 2020 in Budapest.
