Shaping a new strategy for the youth sector - The work continues!

The CMJ drafting group set up to develop a strategy for the Council of Europe youth sector for the period 2020-30 will continue its work at a second meeting on 22 and 23 January in Budapest.

At its first meeting in December 2018, the drafting group started to shape the contents of the future strategy by building a theory of change which defined the youth sector’s vision, its purpose and role, its distinction, its range of services and its draft thematic priorities. The group chose a visual model to illustrate why a change is desirable, how this change is expected to happen and the possible roles of the Council of Europe and its youth sector.

During this second meeting, the drafting group will develop further the theory of change and work on the strategy’s draft contents and structure. The fruits of the group’s efforts will be examined by the Joint Council on Youth at its 40th meeting to be held on 19 and 20 March 2019.

The drafting group is expected to finalise its work by the end of 2019.
