In recognition of their longstanding co-operation and with a view to advancing joint achievements, the Council of Europe and "Obala Art Centar" Sarajevo, the organisation behind the Sarajevo Film Festival, have signed a Memorandum of Co-operation.
This agreement establishes a framework for continued collaboration aligned with the Council of Europe's strategic priorities, particularly as regards promoting youth-oriented initiatives, intercultural dialogue, and democratic resilience.

The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed on the final day of the Sarajevo Film Festival, which also marked a new milestone by awarding, for the first time ever, the Special Youth Perspectives Award, established in co-operation with the Council of Europe.

By establishing this new award and renewing their commitment through the memorandum, the Council of Europe and the Sarajevo Film Festival reaffirm their shared belief that culture—and film in particular—remain vital tools for amplifying young people's voices and strengthening democratic values across the continent.
