On 20 January 2025, the sixth meeting of the Group of Senior Officials took part online and further progressed with the preparation of the 10th Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth. The Conference will take place on 8-9 October 2025 in Malta, under the Maltese Presidency of the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers.
The Group has decided upon several important aspects, like further developing the agenda of the conference or discussion about the revised version of the final declaration and lastly, also prepared further for their on-site meeting in Malta in the end of February. With Young people for Democracy: Youth perspectives in Action being the title, the Conference will also ensure the delivery of the Reykjavik declaration, 4th Summit of Heads of State and Government (16-17 May 2023), focusing on streamlining the youth policy across different sectors.
The main deliverables of the Conference were also reaffirmed, resulting in the need to have a strong final declaration supported by all the bodies of the Ministerial Conference. Happening after 13 years, the Conference will reconfirm and guide the next priorities of both, the member states and the youth policy of the Council of Europe. The Save the date for this conference was sent out in November to all respective institutions and member states. More information on programme and practical aspects can be awaited in the following months.
