Merídio network in Strasbourg

40 young people – studying law, social sciences, etc. -travelled to Strasbourg for one of the institutional visits organised by the NGO Merídio, which also organises parliamentarian simulations, debates and encounters with public personalities.

On top of visits to the Council of Europe, the European Court of Human Rights and the European Parliament, the group also visited the European Youth Centre on 22 November. There, they had a chance to hear about the Council of Europe work in the youth sector and its specificities – co-management, youth participation, fight against discriminations and for human rights.

They also learned about the European Youth Foundation (EYF), the Enter! project, the Quality label for youth centres programme, and the Living Library project, a session of which will be organised at the forthcoming EYE in June 2025.

The group was curious about the profile of the young people who take part in EYC activities, as well as about the members of the Advisory Council on Youth.

Merídio, thanks in particular to its 20 antennas in France, aims to raise awareness of citizenship with young people, with an apolitical approach respecting parity, inclusion and diversity, be it in their bodies or among the personalities they invite to debate with young people.
