Back Faith in Action: Addressing Climate Change and Strengthening Democracy Through Christian Youth Movements

Ecumenical Youth Council in Europe (EYCE) and Ecumenical Forum of European Christian Women (EFECW)

 Aim

The aim is to deepen youth engagement with elements of climate change and address them through democratic and faith-driven action.

 

 Objectives

  • To give participants insights on theological approaches of climate change.
  • To empower participants with tools and skills for climate activism.
  • To encourage participants to promote eco-justice in their communities.
  • To enhance participants' understanding of the interdependence of activism and democratic processes.

 

 About the organisation

 

The study session is organised together and in partnership with the Ecumenical Youth Council in Europe (EYCE) and the Ecumenical Forum of Ecumenical Christian Women (EFECW). EYCE is a strong network of young Christians from all over Europe who seek unity between Christians and are engaged in the work for justice, peace, care and respect for creation.

The Ecumenical Forum of European Christian Women is an international, faith-based, voluntary network of women from all Christian traditions from 25 European countries.

Founded in Switzerland in 1982, the Forum is member of the Conference of INGOs at the Council of Europe and is part of the Committee on ‘Interreligious and interconvictional dialogue’ and on ‘NGOs as advocates for women's rights and gender equality’.
