The United Nations Population Fund’s (UNFPA) Regional Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Florence Bauer, visited today the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg for an exchange with the Head of the Youth Department of the Council of Europe, Tobias Flessenkemper.

During their discussion, both highlighted the shared commitment of their organisations to promoting youth participation and shaping youth policy. The Council of Europe has a history of collaboration with various UN agencies, particularly those focusing on youth participation and democracy. It also works actively to create spaces for youth involvement, support human rights education, and address issue of shrinking civic spaces across Europe.

Representatives of both organisations reaffirmed their dedication to creating opportunities for youth involvement and ensuring young people have access to their rights.
