5 May 2020: On Europe Day, the Advisory Council on Youth celebrates the anniversary of the founding of the Council of Europe and welcomes the continuous efforts of the Council of Europe’s member states to adhere to the values of human rights, democracy and the rule of law and to provide multilateral solutions from which citizens across the continent can benefit.

The Advisory Council requests member states be vigilant in these times of pandemic not to let human rights standards slip, and reminds them of the importance of youth participation and of the role young people play in upholding and advancing democracy rooted in human rights and the rule of law.
