The Advisory Council on Youth participated at the OSCE Chairpersonship Youth Forum, held in Helsinki on 29–30 July 2025, in the framework of the Helsinki +50 Conference marking 50 years since the signing of the Helsinki Final Act.
Organised by the Finnish OSCE Chairpersonship, the Forum brought together young people, institutional representatives and youth peacebuilders from across the OSCE region to advance the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) agenda. The Advisory Council on Youth participated in a thematic session on international good practices in youth participation and highlighted Council of Europe standards for meaningful and structured youth engagement, notably through Co-Management.
The two-day Forum featured interactive working groups on strengthening youth participation in peace and security, outlining elements for an OSCE-wide YPS Roadmap currently under development. The resulting recommendations were formally presented to the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Ms. Elina Valtonen and the OSCE Secretary General Mr. Feridun H. Sinirlioğlu. Held ahead of the OSCE+50 Conference at which the Advisory Council on Youth participated as well, the OSCE Chairpersonship Youth Forum reaffirmed the role of young people as essential partners in building peaceful and democratic societies.
