The new website of Compasito, the Council of Europe's manual on human rights education for children, is now online!

 Modelled on Compass, the manual for human rights education with young people, Compasito and its activities are designed for children aged 5 to 13. It aims to develop in children the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes they need to participate in their society, fully aware of their rights and those of others and able to protect them. Children are then likely to play an active role in building a culture of human rights!

 Compasito is primarily intended for educators and trainers who work with children, teachers and social workers, but also for parents, non-formal educators such as youth workers and assistants in children's and youth centres, as well as anyone interested in human rights education for children and looking for practical tools to familiarise them with common values and social issues.

The website provides an in-depth understanding of human rights education and the activities offered in Compasito to raise children’s awareness of the need to acknowledge, defend and promote human rights in various situations or on specific issues.

 The site also offers guidance and facilitation methods for facilitators to help implement and adapt the activities according to different groups and children’s developmental levels. Based on principles such as cooperation, participation and active learning, Compasito has been designed to adapt to the many contexts in which children can discover human rights, in order to empower them and inspire them to live, learn and act through the lens of human rights.

 Every Compasito activity is designed and developed in keeping with the  Convention on the Rights of the Child.
