Back "Youth Decide - Youth Act" – Human Rights Education Training Course in Moldova

From 20 to 24 October 2025, over 50 Moldovan teachers and youth workers gather in Holercani, Republic of Moldova, for the Compass National Training Course on Human Rights Education “Youth Decide – Youth Act”.

The course aims to strengthen the provision and quality of human rights education in the Republic of Moldova by developing the skills of teachers and youth workers to act as multipliers of human rights education and education for active citizenship among pupils and youth, thus promoting the implementation of the Council of Europe Charter on Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights Education.

Throughout a 5-day programme, participants explore and practice human rights education and non-formal learning methods based on the Council of Europe educational resource Compass: Manual for Human Rights Education with Young People. It involves an interactive and experiential learning process, geared towards developing skills that will support participants in promoting positive change in their schools, organisations and communities.

The training course is organised by the National Youth Agency, together with the Ministry of Education and Research, in cooperation with the Council of Europe Youth Department within the Youth for Democracy programme.

The Reykjavik summit of Heads of State and Government of the member States of the Council of Europe, held in May 2023, emphasised the importance of investing in a democratic future. This includes supporting young people's participation in democratic life and decision-making processes through education about human rights and core democratic values.
