EPAS Study on the impact of COVID-19 in Sport
The Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport, promoting values in and through sport, held a webinar on the impact of Covid-19 on sport: how to address new challenges in Europe (2020) and also conducted a study to understand the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on people’s physical activity/behaviour in terms of how much they exercised and how and where they did so. The study was conducted in 29 member states of the Council of Europe and took place between 26.11.2020 and 21.12.2020.
A number of studies with regards to the impacts of the COVID pandemic on sport and physical activity have been undertaken in member states of the Council of Europe Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport. These studies add further support to the study undertaken by EPAS and paint a picture of a general worsening of physical activity situation in a number of the member states studied.
