Ad hoc Working Group on UEFA EURO 2024 - Germany
Who are we?
We are a group of delegates and experts from States Parties and State and non-State Observers, who aim at supporting the Saint-Denis Committee on the monitoring and exchange on safety, security and service preparations for the UEFA EURO 2024 in Germany.
What do we do?
Our main tasks are:
Ensure regular exchange of information and facilitate cooperation between all relevant Parties and Observers to the Saint-Denis Committee and the relevant authorities of Germany and UEFA, namely by holding at least two meetings before the tournament and one after it; and
Work in cooperation with the T-S4 Advisory Group on International Cooperation to draft a final report with the legacy of the tournament in the field of safety, security and service at sports events (S4).
Since we were established by the Saint-Denis Committee at its 3rd plenary meeting, held in April 2023, we will meet for the first time in October 2023 and then in April 2024 to monitor the state of safety, security and service preparations for the UEFA EURO 2024 in Germany, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and information between the organisers, participating and transit countries, previous organisers and other relevant stakeholders. In the meantime, we also foresee to hold a monitoring visit to Germany. Finally, we plan to meet for a third and last time in October 2024, after the tournament, for a final evaluation.
