Child safeguarding
This project of the Council of Europe is a call for action to public authorities and the sport movement to stop child abuse. By joining this call, governments, sports clubs, associations and federations, as well as athletes and coaches, pledge to take concrete measures to prevent and respond to abuse.
“Start to Talk” is about adults breaking the silence and lending children a voice.

This joint project of the European Union and the Council of Europe aimed to support partner countries in the setting up of Child Safeguarding Officers in sport, through a tailor-made, collaborative methodology adapted to their national context. These contact persons, a crucial lever for the implementation of effective policies for the prevention and protection of minors in sport, are trained, equipped and integrated into a European network where they can continue to exchange and learn from their peers.

Pro Safe Sport+ (PSS+)
April 2017 to December 2017

Pro Safe Sport+ “Put an end to sexual harassment and abuse against children in sport” is a joint project implemented by the Council of Europe (Enlarged Partial Agreement on sport) and co-funded by the European Commission in the framework of Erasmus+ programme. It was a nine-month initiative.
This initiative called for a renewed political attention and for the development of policies and strategic actions to prevent and combat sexual violence towards children in the context of sport.
Why a project on sexual harassment and abuse against children in sport?

Pro Safe Sport (PSS)
January 2014 to June 2015

In 2014-2015, the EU-COE joint project “Pro Safe Sport” (PSS) aimed at promoting a safe and healthy environment for young athletes.
When practicing sports, child/ young athletes can be very vulnerable and exposed to threats to their mental and physical integrity. PSS aimed at removing those threats by providing adequate learning tools to sport organisations and coaches.
Why a project on the physical and moral well-being of young athletes?
