Tackling the culture of violence - Study Session by IFM-SEI
(International Falcon Movement-Socialist Educational International) 16-23 November, Budapest

IFMSEIThe activity aims to train peer educators to increase the quality and reach of education against violence in children and youth groups. More specifically, participants will share realities of violence that affect children and young people, to identify alternatives to violence in peer relationships and between educators and children. They will learn to use the manual “Gender Matters” and develop educational activities to work with children on the right to non-violence.

Objectives:

• To share experiences about violence affecting children and young people and its effects on their development
• To raise awareness of the complexity and the cycle of violence
• To support group leaders in identifying violence and giving them tools to address it, specifically concerning corporal punishment, bullying and gender-based violence
• To develop ideas on how to educate children and youth groups to achieve an environment free of violence
• To create educational activities to work with children about different aspects of violence
