Study session


Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organizations organises from 19th February until 26th February a study session on "Strengthening intercultural learning impact of voluntary programmes for the local communities", in co-operation with the Youth Department of the Council of Europe.

YOUTH PEACE AMBASSADORS
Group C


The Youth Peace Ambassadors project invited its third group of participants (group C) in the European Youth Centre Strasbourg. Youth Peace Ambassadors is a one and a half year project gathering youth leaders from conflict affected communities, aiming at supporting the role of young people in peacebuilding.

Group C consists of 27 young people from 20 different countries; they attended from 22nd to 28th January their first residential seminar. It will be followed by e-learning modules until September, when the second residential seminar will take place in Budapest. In November 2012, the three Youth Peace Ambassadors groups will present the peacebuilding projects they have undertaken in their communities in a joint conference. An evaluation and follow-up meeting was held in Strasbourg on 9-10 December, co-organised by the Team of the Special Representative of the Secretary General on Roma Issues and the Youth Department. The meeting will prepare the Roma Youth Action Plan for 2012 and 2013.

The Symposium on Recognition of Youth Work and of non-formal learning/education in the youth field took place 2011 at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg.

It was co-organised by the partnership between the European Commission and the Council of Europe in the youth field, by JUGEND für Europa – the German National Agency for the Youth in Action programme, and by the SALTO Training and Cooperation Resource Centre, in cooperation with the European Youth Forum

The European Portfolio for youth leaders and youth workers is an initiative of the Council of Europe in cooperation with experts and partners such as the European Commission and the European Youth Forum.

It provides youth leaders and youth workers in Europe, volunteers or professionals, with a tool which can help them identify, assess and describe their competencies based on European quality standards.

Minorities of Europe will hold a study session at the European Youth Centre Budapest on 6-13 May 2012 "Minority Rights Protection - 20 years on".

The study session seeks to bring together youth workers and youth leaders directly interested or concerned by the themes of the event (minorities and youth work). All those interested in attending must submit application by e-mail by 26 February, 2012 to stsminorities2012@gmail.com

The European Drug Prevention Prize
Call for applications to the Prize 2012



The European Drug Prevention Prize is awarded every two years to three drug prevention projects that fully involve young people, either in the development and implementation of activities, the decision-making, the project management and/or the evaluation.

The deadline for submission is: 30 March 2012
