EPAS and the Italian Department for Sport organise a Conference on Integrity in Sport

The Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS) of the Council of Europe and the Italian Department for Sport are organising a Conference on Integrity in Sport within the framework of the Italian Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. The event will take place in hybrid format (Rome/online) on 6-7 December 2021.

The joint conference will cover three main topics, each with a dedicated session:

  • the preparation of integrity guidelines (Session 1, afternoon of 6 December),
  • combating the manipulation of sports competitions (Session 2, afternoon of 6 December),
  • ensuring good governance in sport (Session 3, morning of 7 December).

The aim of the conference is to outline and plan the next steps to be pursued in these three areas by the Council of Europe, in particular by EPAS and the Sport Conventions Division, as well as by our Italian and international counterparts.

The flyer for the event, as well as the factsheet and draft agenda, are available on the Integrity conference webpage.

To register for the conference, please complete and submit the Integrity conference registration form, available in English, French and Italian.

The Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS) provides a platform for intergovernmental sports co-operation between the public authorities of its member states. It also encourages dialogue between public authorities, sports federations and NGOs. This contributes to better governance, with the aim of making sport more ethical, more inclusive and safer.

  Did you know?

EPAS aims to promote the development of any sport whose benefits are wide-reaching. It develops policies and standards, monitors them and helps with capacity-building and the exchange of best practices.

Different recommendations initially prepared by EPAS have been adopted by the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers. Recommendations such as the European Sports Charter are regularly monitored via support and follow-up visits in member states.
