Ms Laura Flessel, the French Minister of Sports, met the members of the French National Platform on the fight against the manipulation of sports competitions on 22 September 2017 at the headquarters of the French Online Gaming Regulatory Authority (ARJEL) in Paris. The Minister received an insight into the functioning of the French Platform and was informed of the activities of the Group of Copenhagen.

In her closing speech, the Minister highlighted her commitment to increasing the fight against corruption in sport : « We will strengthen the National Platform by giving it a legal  existence. (…) Faced with a worldwide threat including criminal networks without borders, we, as the guarantors of the respect of the rules and of the integrty of sport, need to organize ourselves on the international scale. France is doing its part within the Group of Copenhagen, which is the network of the national platforms as  provided for in article 13 of the Macolin Convention. France will do everything in its capacity to see 40 countries in the group by the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020 and 80 countries by Paris 2024! Within the multilateral framework, France  will contribute to the Council of Europe and to the European Union bodies with a pragmatic and open approach, in order to give a decisive impetus to the Macolin Process ».
