EPAS contributes to MESGO session dedicated to the legal framework in sport

The third session of the sixth edition of MESGO took place online from 3 to 7 May 2021. The session was directed by the Centre de droit et d’économie du sport (CDES) from the University of Limoges (France) and was dedicated to giving the course participants insight into disciplinary procedures, EU law, advocacy and lobbying within the world of sport.

EPAS Executive Secretary, Stanislas Frossard, gave a presentation during the session on 5 May on the role of the Council of Europe, the functioning of the Sports Conventions , the activities of EPAS and how it promotes co-ordinated actions between member states’ governments and the sports movement in order to tackle sport-specific issues. He also took part in a round table on the role of the European institutions in the field of sport, along with Florencia Van Houdt, Head of the Sports Unit at the European Commission, and Marc Tarabella, Co-chair of the Sports Group of the European Parliament.

Members of the Governing Board of EPAS were also invited to connect to the session for the day.
