2nd Legal Seminar on Independence of hearing panels and promoting the fair trial of anti-doping cases

4 April 2017, Vilnius

The Monitoring Group of the Anti-Doping Convention of the Council of Europe in cooperation with the Lithuanian Sport Department is organising a Legal Seminar on ensuring the independence of hearing panels (bodies) and promoting the fair trial of anti-doping cases. This seminar is a follow up of the Legal seminar that was held in Oslo (Norway) in 2015 and will take place on 4 April 2017 in Vilnius Lithuania (Hotel Crowne Plaza Vilnius).

Prominent speakers from the European Court of Human Rights, the World Anti-Doping Agency, national anti-doping agencies and other stakeholders will present their views on the relevance of international legal instruments to anti-doping efforts and will illustrate examples of good practice. The seminar will conclude with a workshop on the effective implementation of the principles of fair trials in anti-doping cases, including a discussion on finding practical solutions.
